Winter temperatures hit Romania

Like other countries in south-east Europe, Romania has a temperate continental climate, with very warm summers and very cold, snowy winters. Summer temperatures regularly reach the mid-30s, while in winter they drop well below zero. Springs are short and the shift between winter and summer takes place rapidly between mid-April and mid-May.

Recently we managed to send some coats and blankets over to our kennels. When the dogs are freezing and shivering they burn more calories than usual and will also need to eat more during the winter. We are trying our best to keep our dogs as warm as possible. Some dogs with short hair can struggle even more. For example, Boris hates the cold so he has to wear a coat. At temperatures of -9 currently, imagine how hard it is for our dogs. Luckily lovely Boris gets some warmth and we can show him off.

We are desperate for coats, blankets, and food during this time.
