To sleep in peace and safety

Good morning from Penny's Ark. It’s going to be a good day, we can feel it!

Thank you so much for following and looking at our website. You can also follow our Facebook page. We have had a few donation’s today, thank you thank you! It means a lot and can help so many dogs and cats in need!

The news hot off the press is that we are going to be rolling out a project to identify fosters for the dogs and are in the process of working on it. Watch this space!

We feel that a network of trusted fosters is a good start for us, where we can build our own community and make a good start on homing some of the dogs. Fosters can prepare the dogs for their forever homes.

Whilst our aims and objectives remain the same, this is the achievable short term goal. There will be costs involved because the preparation for dogs won’t initially be covered by any adoption donations. Dogs will be prepared in a clinic where they can access thorough screening and veterinary expertise so we have fewer surprises, such as urgent dental work for the older dogs. Healthy dogs make happy dogs. There will also be a cost of initially transporting the dogs to the clinic and then the cost of the stay, which we hope to keep short. Donations and fundraising is the only way to make this happen.

This means your donations will be vital. It also means our goals of achieving the prize of our own Sanctuary might take longer, but you never know, we might do well at fundraising and achieving donations so here’s hoping. Of course though there will be dogs who we are only comfortable in bringing to a Sanctuary who have slim chances of adoption and so they remain our primary focus and we can’t lose sight of that as time is already against them.

One of our own Romanian rescue dogs is in the photo, nice and snuggly just how they should all be living. It wasn’t always this way for her and she didn’t have it easy. As a puppy we found Lily and her sister in a public shelter. We rescued them but sadly they had Parvovirus. Her pretty sister didn’t make it. We know we can’t help them all, but we can have a good try at making this the new lives for as many as we can, sleeping without worries. For dogs who find themselves in homes they often have the first real sleep of their whole lives. A sad fact, but a real achievement if you made that happen for them!

If you are able to foster for us please let us know and we will. If you are able to donate to Penny’s Ark it’s easy. We have a Just Giving page and a donate button on the website. We also have a Paypal account ‘pennysark@outlook.com’ and links on our Facebook page, so it’s easy to do and feels good to do it.

Have a fantastic day, whatever you are doing!

Many thanks from Penny’s Ark
