Abby is a senior dog who spent many years in a kennel without the space to stretch her legs.. She is a sweet natured lady with lovely soft ears aged about 13 years. She will probably remain at the sanctuary for the rest of her days pottering around and enjoying her freedom.

Cora
Cora loves people, dogs, cats, and children. She was chained up and left in the yard after her owner was arrested by police for theft and left like that without notifying anyone. She managed to escape the chain only after losing a significant amount of weight. When found on the street she had a big wound on her neck, which we suspect is from where she was trying to escape the chain and was literally skin and bones, barely able to walk.Saved by our trusted rescuer and a neighbour Cora is now safe. A friendly, gentle girl who loves to give kisses. She’s very intelligent and walks well on a lead although at times she can pull if you are not walking fast enough for her. Available for foster or adoption.

🎉DUMBO ready for Foster or Adoption🎉 Dumbo is currently in Romania MALE 3 Years old Medium size 50cm Good with other dogs and people Dumbo is described as a very calm, chilled and friendly boy He walks with a slight limp on his front leg which was broken in pieces when he was rescued after being run over and left at the roadside. funds were raised for the vet to operate and mend the breaks but he now walks with a limp but is in no pain

Elsie
Elsie has made great progress since she was rescued by Penny’s Ark. She now allows her carers to give her soft cuddles, jumps around them in excitement and does little zoomies. Elsie will need an experienced person due to her emotional traumas from living in the public shelter. She was very unsure and worried when she first arrived with us and became stressed around new people. We be with time, a calm environment and patience she will settle well in a home. She shares with Ivy quite happily apart from mealtimes where she needs supervision. Elsie is still quite timid and seems very bonded with her friend Ivy. She can be a little defensive around other dogs but has been mixing with other dogs at the sanctuary and continues to improve.

Marley
Marley Marley is 5 years old and is one of 4 siblings that arrived in the UK in April this year. He is currently in foster in Basingstoke with his sister and brother. He is a sweet natured, gentle soul who loves his walks and cuddles. His favourite thing is to stretch out on the sofa and snooze. He is good with calm, respectful children. Young excited children might scare him. He has not been cat tested. Although he takes persuading to get in the car he loves a car ride and settles down well during a journey. As with most rescue dogs he can be a flight risk so an escape proof garden is essential. He is now fully housetrained and accustomed to living in a house. He is not destructive. He is good with other dogs and currently lives in a multiple dog household but he must be homed as an only dog as he tends to resource guard at times. Marley has been taught to wear a collar, harness and lead and walks well on the lead. He is healthy, fully vaccinated, neutered and parasite protected. Marley is a super dog and will make someone a loyal, affectionate companion.

🌟 MARTHA in Foster - Basingstoke available for Adoption 🌟 Martha arrived from Romania on 24th April. 🐕 Martha is a timid, shy, nervous girl. She can be quirky , funny and playful. 🐕 She is 5 years old, spayed, fully vaccinated, parasite protected and in good health. 🐕 She is house trained but does do nervous wees if something really scares her. 🐕 Martha will need a patient, calm home and would be best as an only dog. 🐕 She is generally good with other dogs but has shown some protective traits over her space here. 🐕 Martha has been child tested and could tolerate a calm, respectful older child but would be scared of very small children. 🐕 She has not been cat tested. 🐕 She will need lots of love and patience but this will be repaid with copious amounts of love and affection. Once she trusts you she loves to cuddle on the sofa and have belly rubs. 🐕 She is currently scared of almost everything and we are currently building up her confidence outdoors. She would need someone to continue this. 🐕 Martha is now accustomed to living indoors and is used to household items such as TV, washing machine etc. 🐕 She is used to her collar and harness but is still unsure of her lead. Martha would be best homed with someone who is experienced in nervous rescue dogs. Given time she will be a loving, loyal, affectionate companion and her confidence will improve

Martha is an absolutely delightful older dog around ten years of age. She has a very gentle nature and isn’t any trouble. She is a healthy girl and in very good condition who can be a little protective over her food. Loved laying on a rug or bed and wants a very quiet life where she can live out her remaining years. She’s been in a shelter for some years now but since moving to the Penny’s Ark sanctuary her true personality is coming out. A little shy around people to begin with. If you are looking for an adorable older companion then you could not choose a better soul than Martha. Around 12-15kg, she doesn’t take up much space and has been living with other dogs so would probably like other doggy companions but not of the younger, boisterous variety! Fully vaccinated, spayed and microchipped.

Mura has the most gorgeous, soulful eyes. She was rescued as a puppy with her brother, Ziggy. An energetic, slightly nervous girl, she is curious and would benefit from another dog in the home. She currently shares with Ziggy and they will both be arriving at the sanctuary soon.

He was very scared when he came to the sanctuary in April and hid behind his kennel for days. He is now a bundle of sweetness and life! He is very playful with the other dogs and loves being around people too.

Ricky
Ricky is a loving affectionate little dog, loves chasing birds, plays well on his own although he does get on with other dogs. Likes destroying tennis balls, sleeps all night in his bed in the kitchen and is clean in the house. Very friendly with people, has shown no interest in cats seen out on walks but has not lived with them. Meets other dogs politely, walks very well on a lead and harness. Loves his food with no guarding issues. Not really interested in treats. Would probably suit someone who is perhaps retired and is home most of the time as he doesn’t like being left on his own. He’s very good in the car, sitting on the back seat with his restraint on.

Gorgeous beautiful boy who likes other dogs but is very scared of humans right now and needs a period of recovery, however, should there be an experienced home who could give him the expertise and time to recover we would consider that. Teddy will be arriving at the sanctuary soon and we are hopeful his recovery will continue and gain momentum. Since arriving at the sanctuary, Teddy has quickly revealed curiosity and loves to be around other dogs. He is quickly getting far more relaxed around people.
