1. Find a solicitor
We recommend seeking advice from a solicitor or legal professional when writing your will.
2. Decide the type of gift
There are three main ways to leave a gift:
- A residuary gift. A share of the total value of your remaining assets, after you have provided for your loved ones and all costs are paid. This is the most valuable type of gift for Penny's Ark and the dogs we care for.
- A pecuniary gift. A specific sum of money, left as a gift in your will.
- A specific gift. A specific item, such as jewellery, property, shares or land. In most cases we sell the item and use the proceeds to help more vulnerable dogs.
3. Write your will
