Fundraise for us

Run, bake, walk, or do something wonderfully silly.

“Help us please. Lindsey and team.”

From the Penny's Ark Facebook · April 2026

Plain words

Most of our fundraising is people doing things at home and on weekends.

Penny's Ark is a small charity. We don't run galas or corporate sponsorship packages. We run on small, community-led fundraisers and a Christmas auction in a Facebook group. The numbers below are real. So is the cake & coffee morning at the village green.

If you have an idea, a marathon, a craft sale, a dress-down day at work, a book of pet portraits, we would love to hear it. Email us and we will help you get started.

Items donated to the Penny's Ark Pennies Auction: a tote bag, scarves, jewellery, chalkboard mats, lanyards, earrings and more, laid out flat.
The Pennies Auction

Bid on donations, fund the vet bills.

Every month we run an online auction in a Facebook group. Supporters donate things: handmade items, art prints, wreaths, hampers. The rest of the supporters bid on them. Bidding is fun, the items are good and the dogs get the proceeds.

Run by Fiona Bond, the long-standing auction lead. The community texture matters as much as the takings. A normal post is a kennel-mate getting “fish knots (thank you Avril) and chicken from everyone who supports the auction.”

Real things people have done

Four fundraisers, four different shapes.

Not abstract examples. These are the kinds of fundraisers that actually happen at Penny's Ark: small, real, often run by one person with their family.

Cake & coffee morning

Debbie Barfoot · Village Green, Basingstoke · 11am Saturday

Debbie organised the whole thing. Cake, coffee, a tombola, the Dulux dog-name guess, hand-made craft stalls, art by her son Thomas Barfoot, pet portraits live, Meet The Artist, and a few Penny's Ark dogs along for the day. RG23 8QW. £682.40 raised, in one morning, in a village in Hampshire.

Ben, age 9, our youngest fundraiser, who walked 82km over the summer to raise money for Penny's Ark dogs.
82km

Sponsored walk over the summer

Ben (age 9) · Summer holidays

Our youngest fundraiser. Ben decided to walk 82km over the summer holidays to raise money for the dogs. Alongside the walk he made posters and ran toy sales at Debbie's coffee morning. The whole walk got done. Dexter the foster dog showed up at the finish wearing a new raincoat (he wasn't convinced).
